HR GO plc has expanded its UK regional operations by acquiring a majority stake in a prominent South West recruiter.

Red Berry Recruitment Limited is the latest addition to the fast-growing international and business services group.

HR GO, founded in 1957, has acquired a 51% shareholding in the business with branches in the Somerset towns of Yeovil, Shepton Mallet and Bridgwater.

Red Berry Recruitment, founded by Helen Lacey, is a well-established independent recruitment consultancy that has provided employment solutions across the West Country since 2007.

It has built up an enviable reputation over the past 12 years, working with the region’s organisations and employers of all types and sizes, including sector leaders.

It provides temporary and permanent staff to many key sectors, including office and administration, customer service, engineering, finance and accounts, general industrial, IT and technology, manufacturing and technical, marketing, public relations and advertising.

Under the new joint venture, Red Berry Recruitment’s Bridgwater branch will merge with the town’s existing HR GO branch.

HR GO’s branch manager Leanne Sheppard will look after the expanded Bridgwater office, while Helen Lacey will manage the Yeovil and Shepton Mallet Red Berry Recruitment business as part of the HR GO Group.

Roddy Barrow, HR GO Group Managing Director said: “We welcome Red Berry Recruitment to the HR GO family. This joint venture expands our coverage of the South West and West Country, enabling us to provide a wider range of services with excellent customer care to Red Berry’s clients and our own.”

Helen added: “I’m delighted to be teaming up with HR GO, a dynamic and ambitious independent group that offers Red Berry Recruitment a high level of resources, sophisticated technology and digital services.

“I’m grateful for the support from our clients over the years and look forward to continuing to serve them and new ones with the added benefits and resources that the larger group can offer.”

Jack Parkinson, HR GO plc Executive Chairman, said: “We are committed to seeking new opportunities like the one we have just agreed with Red Berry Recruitment in Somerset. We have much to offer and I am always interested in hearing from other recruiters that would like to find out more.”
