Thanet Earth
We employ a high percentage of permanent staff and use agency teams to accommodate the flex in production. Previously, we relied wholly on one agency supplier. This strategy had some positives and also some negatives attached. On the plus side, we only had one trusted supplier to deal with but on the negative side, we lost some of the businesses ability to flex as the daily requirements could outstrip the agency’s ability to cope and we had been left short on a number of occasions.
After reviewing the local and national temporary labour providers, we decided to go with HR GO based on their clear understanding of our business’s needs, and their total professionalism in engaging with the TEM business in order to fully understand the type of business we are and the types of work available.
After a thorough evaluation, they proposed a core team of staff initially who would work on one line and be the blueprint of the future staff requirements and this process has now developed across the factory and also into office workers and shift teams.
I am very happy so far with the management team and they have introduced to the other agency supplier a number of processes that mark them out from the ordinary including weekly/monthly KPI analysis.
The staff themselves are well resourced and briefed and we do not as a rule, suffer from any shop floor management issues and they have successfully integrated into the onsite teams.
